On the 9th of January 2008 Jimmy Dappen and I arrived in
Santa Marta
, and Jose Maspac. We installed 3 filters in
Santa Marta
(all 3 had been requested on Nov trip) Don Malio there in SM is doing better. He is able to get around on crutches now. In Jose Maspac we stayed with Felipe again. We met with Amin and his family, they are well. Amin has been taking care of them. which is why we have not seen more of him in
San Cristóbal
for translations. He did say that he has taken the El Camino A Jesus study to his brother in law who is giving it a revision. We checked several filters there in Maspac and found the school teacher who is interested in helping with the stove project. I left the instruction manual with him to look over and he will return it to me on the next trip. Next morning we went to Antonio Maspac and installed a system in Anastasio's home. His son (Jesus) who was in
Spain
studying to be a priest during our last visit was there. They both listened to the sermon Amin and I recorded and enjoyed it very much. In fact the Zoque preaching cell phone was a big hit with every one. We picked Amin up in Jose Maspac and drove to Tila. We found that Gilberto who we met in Viejo Carmen on the last trip was not home but his wife rcvd the filter installation and we installed one with Claudio there as well. On the way back we tried to get into Nuevo Candelaria but the road was totally washed out about half way down. We left the truck parked there and hiked in with the last filter system. We went to Catalina and Carmelino's home there and installed their system that was on back order. It was a long hike out of there back to the truck. We spent that night in Jose Maspac again. I found some Zoque bible materials that a non literate man had and bought them from him then gave the New Testament to Amin with instructions to read Romans before I came back. We left early on the morning of the 11th. We distributed 7 systems in 4 new villages. NJT
