This report includes two trips. Joel and I left on the 22nd of October and returned on the 24th. It started raining the night we arrived and continued the entire time we were there. We installed 9 Pure Water filtration systems and received requests for 5 more. We left about 10am on the 24th because we had heard that there had been mudslides the night before that had blocked the road out. Sure enough about 200yards before the bridge by the waterfalls there was a mudslide that was completely blocking the road. We returned to Santa Marta and parked the pathfinder at Malio's. Then we caught rides and walked all the way out to Tecpatan. We arrived home around 6pm.

On the 9th of November Joel, Josue, Lorenzo and I took the GMC. We left at 7am, spent some time in San Fernando looking at potential mission station land, and arrived in Santa Marta to pick up the Pathfinder. We installed filters there and in San Antonio Maspac. Spent the night in Arroyo Caracol. We were back on the road by 7am and installed one last system in Viejo Carmen. We also spent time surveying the damage from mudslides in Azapac Amatal. This village is waiting to hear from the government if they will be relocated or allowed to rebuild their homes and village. NJT
